Erasmus+ MIC Ukraine

Erasmus+ mobility project with Ukraine

In the field of chemistry, the university has supported scientific exchange with the Taras Chevtchenko National University of Kiev for over 20 years, and more recently with the universities of Kharkiv, Lviv and Donetsk, as well as with the Institute of Organic Chemistry in Kiev (NAS). The deputy director of this institution was as a guest professor at the University Toulouse III-Paul Sabatier in 2018. This is why the university seeks to continue developing relationships with Donetsk National University.

The geopolitical environment and tensions related to conflicts in this region have weakened parts of the university system.

An MIC project with Ukraine that involved 40 mobility periods over 2 years was completed in 2019. This first project's aims included incoming mobility for Master's students (13), and for Ukrainian teacher-researchers for training (16). Outgoing mobility included teaching missions (6) for some of the university's teachers as well as for teacher-researchers and international relations staff (5) for missions related to training and to Erasmus+ projects.

As a continuation of this project, this new mobility programme will allow the university to welcome first-year and second-year Master's students and doctoral students. The project will also give the university the opportunity to welcome Ukrainian teachers/researchers (STT) for three-week periods so that they can acquire additional skills in their respective disciplines and exchange with teaching teams at our university.

Feedback from the first project showed real demand among our Ukrainian colleagues.

In return, the project also plans to send teachers (STA) from the university, for five-day periods each, to teach Master's and undergraduate courses. This will enhance the training offered by our partners and allow students who have not had the opportunity to come to Toulouse to benefit from certain lessons.
